River Rocks Studio:

While I only possess a small home recording setup I do make a number a recordings not just for myself but for friends and some local bands so it seems appropriate to give it a name. I will call it River Rocks Studio. There is no river anywhere near the studio. It is the name of one of my photo's under the photograghy page. I like the name and thought I should use it. I really need to come up with some kind of logo now.

Just for fun this was my old guitar pedal board. Needless to say it was a little too big.

Here are a couple newer pedal boards.

Sometimes I just use one of these.

History:

To give a little back ground I bought this house. This house had a little room off the laundry room that was boarded up. When I first looked at the house I had the owner pull down the sheet of plywood that covered the doorway so I could see inside. The room was used by the previous owner for canning. It had a sink and a stove and shelves and counters but it was all hand made in a very shoddy way. The walls were stained as well as the ceiling. The floor had severly ripped vinyl and the cabinets were painted in the ugliest color green you could imagine. The current owners had stored a bunch of old paint cans and wood and now it was a dusty, musty, cob webby and very unwelcomning place.

When we moved in I did a little work to recover the room as an office. I cleaned and painted and put in new ceiling tiles. It was still an ugly room but it was usable. Finally the day came when I decided to build my studio. I completely demo'ed it. I ripped out the old cabinets and stove and sink. Very scary but I found unterminated gas and water lines that were just shut off with a valve and the pipes sawn or broken off.

Here are a few pictures of shortly after the room renovation when I started bringing gear in.
