Taxes

Yes, paying taxes is patriotic. It is not patriotic for politicians to target personal incomes and corporate earnings and continually take more and more and more. It is ridiculous to argue that increasing taxes on businesses that are already struggling, already laying people off, will somehow stimulate economic growth. We have found that the tax code can be used to manipulate the economy and this has proven time and time again to be a good practice if used judiciously. Unfortunately there are those who promote class warfare, also known as petty jealousy, against people who work hard, take risks, make investments, start businesses, and create jobs, as an excuse for reaching in their pockets and taking their earnings. This practice is unpatriotic and everybody suffers as a result, rich and poor. Of course low taxes is not one solution for all problems either. There are also issues like trade balance and energy costs that cannot be ignored but keeping taxes reasonably low is patiotic, positive, people and business friendly. It should be the goal to promote an economic environment that is vibrant and creates opportunity.
